Deep navy paint combining with flowing water have been used in a highly skilful way to capture the shape and ocean reflections on these serene humpback whales. A moment in time captured on the canvas. Up close you can see the way the paint has been laid down, purposefully manipulating water and pigment to dry whilst almost looking to be in motion. The outcome is a beautiful artwork that is simple but with real complexity and detail. A unique blend of positive and negative shapes, technical in its rendering yet appearing so uncomplicated.
